I get it! I used to wish I could just zipper my mouth shut!! 🤐

Before we go any further, here’s the quick version of my story… because it matters.

My struggle with food and body image started around 14.

Diet culture was everywhere—and so were the labels: stocky, husky, big-boned.


All I wanted was to be skinny, confident… and honestly, anyone but me.

By 19, I became a personal trainer.


I thought I had it all figured out—nutrition, exercise, discipline.

On the outside, I looked like I had it all together.

But behind closed doors?

I was an absolute hot mess!

I was bingeing on anything I could get my hands on—cookies, ice cream, chips… all of it.

No one knew. I did it all in secret.

And that exhausting cycle of shame went on for decades.

I remember one time I decided I was only going to have one cookie. I planned it carefully, thinking, “It’s no big deal.”

But the moment it hit my lips, I knew I was in trouble. “I’ll just have one more,” I thought.

And then… another. And another. Before I knew it, the box of 24 cookies was empty, and I was running to the outside garbage can, shoving the last bites into my mouth.

I was terrified. I had been bingeing for decades, but this time I had really tried to control it. I was paying attention, making an effort… so why couldn’t I stop?

I felt sick, disgusted, angry, ashamed… everything. I mean, I knew better! I’m a fitness and nutrition coach—how was I still letting this happen?

Around this time, I’d been exploring self-discoverya way to get curious about your life story and learn new things about yourself.
